designer love: john jacob interiors

Thanks to a very close friend of mine who grew up in Johannesburg, I have a newfound appreciation for many things South African (especially their wine!).  At the top of my list is interior designer John Jacob, based in Cape Town.  While his work runs the gamut from glamorous to earthy and rustic, it’s his attention to detail and use of natural elements and mix of textures that I love most.  I always try to incorporate ideas that reflect my client’s personality and heritage and John Jacob is brilliant at mixing in South African elements in every home he works on.  The proof is in the pudding, check out his work:

These butterfly paintings are AMAZING:

All three of these bathrooms make me weak in the knees…

Herringbone floors…

A fireplace by the bathtub…so romantic!
