10 dramatic range hoods

I LOVE to cook but always use every spare inch of space I have, so, in order to maximize it, decorations are kept to a bare minimum because anything displayed gets used on a daily basis.  In a way, I prefer it this way because then people can focus on the design details like cabinetry, millwork, fabulous hardware or eye catching backsplash tile.  Flipping through some of the kitchens I’ve pinned on Pinterest, almost every one of my favorites had an amazing focal point, courtesy of a gorgeous, well-designed range hood- the true eye candy in the kitchen!  Below are ten great examples of how a fabulous range hood can create a dramatic centerpiece:

There is so much to love about this kitchen in the Sag Harbor home of interior design genius Steven Gambrel, but that fabulous steel hood steals the show and is a great use of the vaulted wall space above:

The sheer size of this stainless steel hood is a dramatic focal point in a kitchen designed by Phoebe Howard:

O’Brien Harris has used gorgeous, rivited zinc range hoods in a couple of their kitchens and my, aren’t they stunning??

A simple band of reclaimed wood on the bottom of a paneled range hood warms up an all-white kitchen and ties in to the beams overhead:

A custom-designed brass and stainless steel hood is a gorgeous centerpiece in this kitchen featured in New England Home Magazine:

Thick molding and generously-sized corbels are a dramatic yet simple compliment to soapstone countertops and backsplash and creamy white cabinetry in this kitchen, designed by Brooke and Steve Giannetti:

I love the warmth and interest a range hood covered with oak boards brings to the kitchen of this 1895 Victorian, designed by Ken Lindsteadt:

A dark copper hood is a showstopper in this amazing kitchen by Erika Powell:

LOVE the copper range hood in this kitchen, originally featured a few years ago in Renovation Style Magazin, and how it ties in with the antique pendant lighting:

The kitchen with the checkered floors in my favorite. All that light and timeless finishes. My favorite hoods are the 2 with wood on them. They add so much warmth.
