brooks + falotico

I stumbled upon New Canaan, Connecticut-based architectural firm Brooks and Falotico one night earlier this week and immediately spent quite a bit of time simultaneously flipping through their portfolio and drooling all over my keyboard!  I love their East Coast style and am especially drawn to their shingle-style and board and batten homes along the water that are chock full of beautiful architectural details like thick moldings, transom windows and built-ins, mixed with classic New England details like hanging lanterns and glass-front cabinetry. To see more of their work, check out their portfolio – here are a few of my favorites:

LOVE the wall of built-ins and the gray-striped rug in this fabulous living room:

I DIE for these Chisholm Hall lanterns and an amazing floor-to-ceiling plate rack!

Yummy cedar shake shingles mixed with black shutters, a crisp white wrap-around porch and lantern lighting:

All-white is so elegant in this master bath. Love the mirror, lighting and floor-to-ceiling tile:

So much to love in such a small space – walls of windows, slate floor, transom lighting and those gorgeous high gloss black painted double doors:

White cabinetry will never go out of style – especially when paired with hanging lanterns and soapstone countertops:

Love this fabulous beadboard-backed coffered ceiling, white paneled fireplace and gorgeous grasscloth wallpaper:

Love this cozy little corner in architect Louise Brooks covered patio – slate floors, shutters, a Lutyens bench and potted boxwoods are right up my alley:

Another view of that fabulous plate rack:

That stove!  Hello, gorgeous…

What girl wouldn’t covet this closet/dressing room?

Lovely!!! The black shutters are looking lovely in this house. Shutters are essential for privacy and security purpose. I have shutters in all the windows of my house.
