summer entertaining favorites

Hello, HELLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!  Long time, no blog, eh?  All I can say is that time flies when you’re running around after/with littles and I wouldn’t change a minute of it, but oh, how I have missed blogging!  I’ve got a ton of ideas to write about here and I thought I’d start with some of my current entertaining favorites for summer!  (Because, even though it’s August, it’s still SUMMER!!!)  It’s without a doubt my favorite time of the year to entertain – it’s so easy to have friends over for a dip in the pool and then fire up the grill and throw some veggies or a salad together and voila!  Fresh food, yummy cocktails and happy kids who tire themselves out swimming; it just doesn’t get any better than that!

I like to keep it just as simple with my table settings, but I still like to take it up a notch from every day…I use the same entertaining basics/staples all year long (my water hyacinth placemats and bamboo flatware are a must) and then for summer months, add a little blue and white and, of course, some texture.  I made this rope-wrapped vase a few years back and have used it so many times since; it adds a nautical touch, perfect for summer months (see how I made it here).

I posted some pics of a table setting last week to Instagram and got a ton of questions about where everything was from, which, I might add, I think is hilarious because I’m nothing if not predictable when it comes to my table settings lately, ha!  I put together some of my current favorites below as well as a few that are super chic for summer (that rattan ice bucket is still on my radar!) …

French wine glasses / Hampton stripe napkins / Bamboo flatware / Navy linen table runner / Seagrass drinking glasses / Cane pitcher / Rattan ice bucket / Ridge ceramic vase / Oversize clam shell / Bamboo servers / Melamine bamboo plates

Happy Tuesday!
