FINDS FOR THE TABLE

This time of year is my favorite for trying new recipes, lots of baking and candlelight dinners (we just started this with the kiddos a few months ago and they LOVE it). I’ve been slowly but surely making my way through Mimi Thorisson’s Old World Italian, one of the most beautiful cook books with some of the most incredible recipes, all of which have been a huge hit with both littles and the hubby. I bought this set of six pasta bowls recently, which have been great for some of her meat and pasta recipes, as well as soups and big salads, too.

One of the smallest things that brings so much joy is setting the table every day…nothing particularly fancy, but always candles of some kind and linen napkins (I’ve been using kitchen towels lately, a trick picked up from Ina Garten years ago). Using simple but beautiful basics like olive oil cruets and small touches like silver salt, pepper shakers and marble butter or salt dishes, even a rattan wine holder completely elevate a table from every day to something special. Here are a few favorites:

Set of 6 pasta bowls / Rattan wine holder / Topiary / Bamboo flatware / French stripe kitchen towels / Oil and vinegar cruets / Glass hurricanes / Marble salt cellar / Piccardie glasses / Rattan ice bucket / Tray

Hope you’re off to a great start this week!
