country living

The older I get, the more I appreciate the simple things in life.  When we built our current home a year and a half ago, I sold and donated everything and started over with a fresh mindset that included a much cleaner, more simple design aesthetic with calming, neutral colors, soft fabrics and lots of natural textures. With the cooler Fall weather in full effect, I’m so taken with the charm and quaintness of homes (and life) in the country and interior designer Jimmy Stanton’s rustic Madison, Georgia, home with its khaki color palette and abundance of natural textures is a stunning example.

A stunning array of botanicals set on black paper create a breathtaking focal point in the entry, above an antique bench:

Another view of the beautiful entryway:

A warm and cozy living room:

Iron windows, wood paneled walls, open shelving and vintage submarine lights add a rustic touch to the all-white kitchen:

An antique whitewashed hutch holds serveware in a corner of the kitchen:

A fully-stocked bar made from reclaimed wood is perfect for entertaining:

Beautiful and expertly arranged vignettes abound:

I love how the reclaimed wood mirror and the antique brass sconces pop against the green/black walls:

Taupey-gray walls, a seagrass rug and linen slipcovers warm up the traditional dining room.  How perfect is this room for serving up Thanksgiving dinner?

LOVE that old tub in the master bath:

And last, but not least, a cozy outdoor spot to relax and unwind.  I love how the black shutters and creeping vines add drama and interest:
