BEAUTIFUL LIGHTING THAT WON’T BREAK THE BANK

One of my favorite ways to add warmth and coziness to a room is with beautiful lighting. I really dislike recessed lights; even with a dimmer, it can be really harsh, but I know that going without sometimes just isn’t an option, so I like to layer beautiful table lamps, floor lamps, sconces and pendant options whenever possible. I’ve done this in my house to the point where, with the exception of the kitchen, we rarely, if ever, use overhead lighting and it just feels so much more cozy. Not to mention the fact that it’s a lot more flattering, too!

E-clients are always asking for lighting options that won’t break the bank and I’m always on the lookout for beautiful lighting options for my own house. I love to add texture whenever possible, as you can tell from the pics above of my rope lamps in our master, which I always get questions about (they’re HomeGoods finds from years ago, but I found the exact one below!) Mixing them with glass, antique brass, even a homemade demijohn lamp (read how I made mine here) create a layered look that is effortlessly chic. Here are a few pretties I’m loving lately; the rope sconce at the very bottom is a bit of a splurge, but the rest are all very affordable options – perfect for upgrading builder-grade options or just layering on their own!
