around my house…

…things are a tad bit crazy!  Aside from trying to finish a job for a client before Thursday, I’m also hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year, which means I’m planning dinner, cleaning the house and trying to finish up a few odds and ends before family gets in town.  I had a post all lined up for today on perfect hostess gifts, but I decided to scrap that and show a few snapshots from around my house, instead. Hope you enjoy!

A few shots of vignettes from our corner built-ins (I’m still not finished filling the shelves, but a full reveal is right around the corner, I promise!):

Thanks to a mild Fall, the ferns flanking my front door are still bright green and lush:

I love this Japanese fishing float-inspired lamp that a friend scored for me for less than $100:

My camellias are in full bloom and are adding the perfect dose of pale pink to my front landscape:

I’ve been snipping blooms and placing them in bud vases all over the house:

I’ve been loving having the French doors open in our family room.  I painted the exteriors a glossy black and they look fabulous against our pale gray/blue walls:

Here is one of a set of six Queen Anne-style chairs I’ve been diligently sanding and stripping of six crusty layers of paint.  Almost done with this one and can’t wait to show you the finish I’m going to give them:

A stack of some of my favorite design books:

And, last but not least, piles and piles of pine straw that I raked up early this morning, but haven’t yet gotten around to picking it all up.  Any takers?

Hope you are all having a fantastic Monday!
