thanksgiving table

While I should be more concerned with the mammoth meal I am cooking this Thanksgiving, I’m sure most of you who read this blog can relate to my obsession with decorating the table just right!  My two brothers, my father and my husband could care less whether we ate on tv trays, just as long as there’s plenty of food to go around, but my mother always set a gorgeous table and it’s important to me to do the same this year.  I’ve gotten a ton of inspiration from fellow bloggers and, of course, Pinterest.  Here are some of my favorites:

A simple burlap runner, rustic terra cotta pots and lots of candlelight make for a gorgeous table setting, via Alchemy Fine Events:

I love these pine cone place cards Emily created last year for her table.  They are simple and elegant, and super budget friendly!

Candles in mason jars and old wine bottles are rustic and beautiful, via:

Quail feathers add a touch of rustic elegance to this table, via Gramercy:

A birch bark placemat, herringbone napkins, gold flatware and bowls of bright green moss make for an elegant place setting, via Martha Stewart:

Another super inexpensive DIY place card idea-spray paint gourds or mini pumpkins with champagne paint, via:

Nothing is more fitting for Thanksgiving than to decorate your table with natural elements like these gourds, via:

Yummy appetizers and finger foods like olives, cheese and loaves of bread are not only great to nibble on while dinner is being made, but they also add a rustic touch to any table, via:

And just in case you need a little help (I certainly did!), here’s a fabulous table setting guide, via House of Fifty:

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
