thom filicia does it again

Of all the magazine subscriptions I get, I have to say, House Beautiful is one that has been consistently knocking it out of the park!  Just in time for the November release of his new book, American Beauty, Thom Filicia’s renovated 1917 lake house in upstate New York takes center stage in this month’s issue and the details are divine! Fabric-covered walls, exposed reclaimed beams, oversize furniture, rustic accents and subtle nautical details create a young, fresh, modern vibe, perfect for relaxing or entertaining.  I love the unexpected touches-the darker color palette, charcoal-painted doors and mix of pattern and furniture pieces are both sophisticated and casual at the same time.  And that fire pit!  Be still my heart!

Here are my picks for creating a similar look:

seagrass cube

rope handrail

iron and rope mirror

Benjamin Moore witching hour

Throw pillows

Stripe throw

mason lanterns
