get the look: navy lacquered butler’s pantry

I’m officially adding “navy lacquered butler’s pantry” to the list of must-haves for our forever home, thanks to this breathtaking little jewel box off the kitchen in blogger Sue DeChiara’s Connecticut home.  I’ve followed Sue’s blog for years and have obsessed over every inch of her butler’s pantry since they moved in a few years back and since I always get the itch to paint something in my home a deep, dark, inky blue this time of year, I thought it only fitting to share her little slice of navy heaven on the blog today!

When Sue first moved in the cabinetry was brown but a few coats of navy lacquer paint and some new hardware completely breathed new life into the space and gave it a chic, modern feel.  It never ceases to amaze me how a coat or two of paint can completely transform a space or a piece of furniture and if you check out the before shot of this space here, you’ll see exactly what I mean.  The coral is such a pretty contrast to the inky paint and brings such an organic texture and the barware and lowballs coraled on a tray are as beautiful as they are practical:

If I could relocate my laundry room to the garage and turn the space into a butler’s pantry, I would do it in a skinny minute, but for now I’ll settle for a makeshift bar setup on my kitchen counter or in the dining room, lol.  Here are a few of my picks for creating a feel similar to Sue’s beautiful butler’s pantry below.  Be sure to check out her blog for pictures of the space before its new transformation, too!
