cool, calm and collected

As much as I love bright, bold color and pattern, at the end of the day, there’s nothing like coming home to a calm, soothing environment. My days are filled with enough craziness and running around like a chicken with my head cut off, so when I come home, I like it to be less so. Tobi Tobin’s Malibu beach cottage is filled with warm wood furniture, pops of black and lots of soft, natural textures, all set against a white backdrop and an amazing view of the ocean.  What more could a girl ask for?

Here are my picks for creating a similar look at home:

Octagonal mirror

Glass lamps

Sisal rug

Seagrass basket set

tripod lamp

faux coral

stripe pillows

straw fedora

Kelly…all of your post are so original and inspirational…I love all of the colors of the groupings in this post. I am not an interior designer but I know class when I see it and you, my friend have class indeed! I always come back to your site for inspiration…you are one of the few blogs that don't do the "same ol' same ol'". Thanks for being an inspiration.
