A few years back, Anna from Absolutely Beautiful Things posted about Steven Gambrel’s Sag Harbor cottage from this article, and from the moment I saw the inside, I was smitten. The vaulted ceilings and planked walls lend such an airy, sophisticated feel, but what really drew my eye were the framed sea creature prints above the sofa:
Then I got to thinking how easy (and inexpensive) it would be to frame an entire wall in sea prints from a book. So, last week I stopped into Barnes and Noble to see if they had anything on conchology and, low and behold, they had ONE and it was on clearance for $15!
Chock full of beautiful paintings of every kind of shell you could ever imagine, I’m going to frame a bunch in a grid pattern in my foyer. It’s a great way to make a big impact on a little budget. Here are some of my favorites:
