cedar shake chic in the hamptons
After an entire week of 75 degrees and sunny skies last week, I’ve got spring fever so bad! I can’t think of a better way to kick off a new (much colder) week than by sharing a beautiful Hamptons summer haven and this one has one of the most stunning exteriors, entry way and grounds I’ve seen in a long time! The home of fashion executive Mario Grauso graced the pages of House and Home a few months back and I fell in love with it the moment it landed in my mailbox! Cedar shakes, crisp white trim, a pea gravel walkway and patio area and huge ferns flanking the front door are so welcoming and gives a sneaky little peek into the chic interiors that await beyond. With the pool just feet away from the outdoor dining area, it’s also an incredible entertaining spot and bonus points for the mature landscaping that blocks views to surrounding homes (and also probably stifles a little bit of noise, too, which is always helpful when hosting a get together!)
You can tour the entire home here, but I thought today I would just share the exterior photos since I’m longing for last week’s warm weather, as well as a few of my picks for how I would decorate the inside myself! Of course, I went with a blue and white color palette with a bunch of texture and a few pops of green to warm things up, as well as some stripes and bamboo for a festive spring/summer touch. Normally, I’m all about mixing a few high end pieces in with my budget-friendly finds but this time around, most of the items are a little on the pricier side (with the exception of the basket – on sale! – and the lantern light, which is a MUCH more affordable version of a pricier classic), soooooo…..let’s just say it’s more of a “wish list” since I’m over here daydreaming of dream houses in the Hamptons, shall we???
Costa sofa / Ribbon trim pillow / Wicker hurricanes / Garden stool / Oversize clam shell / Bamboo dinner plate / Geometric lantern / Stripe pillow / Basket / Candle / Wicker sconce / Topiary
Here are a few more shots of the gorgeous grounds; Im obsessed with pea gravel patios lately and love the simple row of boxwoods separating the dining area from the pool (which is very similar to what we used as inspiration for our own when we built our house!):
Hope you are all off to a great start this week!
