britt’s baby shower

My sweet friend Brittani is expecting her second baby boy at the end of summer and so, to celebrate his upcoming arrival, I hosted a small and intimate lunch for her and a few friends at her house this past weekend! I always have the best intentions to take a bunch of pictures during events like these, but it’s usually too crazy so this time, I set up as much as I could the night before so that I could snap some pics before everyone got there the next day.  I tend to think that simple is not only easier but can also be way more elegant (as much for big dinner parties as for baby showers) so I kept lunch simple (chicken salad, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, English cucumbers and salami slices, arugula salad, strawberry shortcake) and really focused on a beautiful table setting.  The prettiest pink garden roses, pops of soft blue, lots of texture from beautiful rattan chargers and gold rimmed stemless champagne flutes.  Everything turned out amazingly well and the momma-to-be was celebrated in style (which was pretty important to me because she is one of the chicest people I know!)  Here are a few snaps of our luncheon:
