porch envy

Summer should be all about a classic blue and white color palette and super chic outdoor living, wouldn’t you agree?  I’ve been smitten with this covered porch by designers Lance Jackson and David Ecton and think it totally nails the quintessential summer aesthetic, from the incredible scalloped water hyacinth console table and collection of blue and white ginger jars beneath it to the oversize hanging lantern and chippendale-style chairs.  The best outdoor living spaces are those that are more of an extension of the indoors and bringing table lamps, comfy textiles and lots of pillows is a great way to accomplish that feel, as Jackson and Ecton have done here.  Perfection.

Here are my picks for getting a similar look.  I swapped the Chiang Mai pillows for a classic monogrammed navy blue one and added some greenery and my favorite oversize clam shell for a more preppy, subtle nautical feel (which, you know, is my favorite!):

Lamp / Ginger jars / Pillow / Hanging lantern / Topiary / Candle / Clam Shell / Dinner plate

Console table / Basket / Flatware / Rug
