NANTUCKET RECAP
Trying to blog in the summer when the kiddos are out of school, for me at least, is a lot like trying to brush my teeth while eating Oreos; it’s nearly impossible. No matter my best intentions, all of my time and attention goes to the littles and if I’m being perfectly honest, as much as I love blogging, I really wouldn’t have it any other way! We’ve spent the entire day in the pool today and everyone is piled on the couch pillows on the floor, watching a movie, so I decided to hop on here and update this old blog. Despite the fact that it’s almost two whole months since we were on Nantucket this summer, I’m sharing my pics from our trip because I’ve always slacked in the past and never post them here and there are so many beauties on my camera roll!
We are beyond blessed to have the most gracious friends who let us borrow their home for a full week; it’s exactly a half mile from Steps Beach and a half mile from downtown, so we walked EVERYWHERE. The sun comes up SUPER early, so every morning, my daughter would come wake me up and the two of us would walk down to the beach or downtown to bring coffee back for the hubby and just chat about everything and anything. It was not only my favorite way to begin the day, but also really one of my absolute favorite memories together from this last trip. And, naturally, I always made sure I had my phone in hand to capture the ethereal beauty that is inherently Nantucket, from the charming window boxes and silvered cedar shakes to the climbing roses and that breathtaking view of the water from the top of the steps at Steps Beach. So get ready for photo overload. Next up, I’ll be sharing all the family and kid-friendly activities we did and spots we visited, as requested. In the meantime, here is a glimpse of Nantucket in June…the hydrangeas were so close to being in bloom and so were the climbing roses, but even without them, the island is just pure magic:
