moody blue beach bedroom

I love light, bright beach houses with plenty of crisp white paint as much as the next person, but who says you can’t get the same effect with dark, cozy colors?  Lately, I’ve been so inspired by spaces that can achieve a laid back, sophisticated beach feel without resorting to pastels and seashells, that I decided to create a design board for a master bedroom with a moody, beach vibe.  The trick was to start with walls coated in Benjamin Moore’s Soot and then add lots of texture to stand out against it-through seagrass rugs, bamboo blinds, and possibly my favorite element in the bedroom: the clean lines and rich finish of the Hampstead Bed by Williams Sonoma Home.  Throw in some gauzy Belgian linen curtains, a matching bamboo dresser , a gallery wall in rich wood frames, monogrammed navy stripe bedding, a fiddle leaf fig for greenery and Boston Library Lamps from Circa in an antique brass finish and we’ve got a cozy hideaway that I wouldn’t ever want to leave!
