luxe for less: rope chandelier

With warmer weather right around the corner (fingers crossed), it’s all I can do not to think about what everyone else is thinking about this time of year…the beach!  In my mind, I have decorated (and re-decorated) my pretend cottage by the sea over and over again and one of my must-haves is a fabulous rope chandelier!  Last summer, you might remember this post, in which I listed a few gorgeous rope chandeliers, including this beauty from Jamie Young Co.:

I love the lines, the thick jute roping and especially the burlap shades, and then this weekend, while thumbing through the latest spring catalogues from all the big box stores, I saw a pretty close replica from Pottery Barn (right down to the burlap shades!) for less than a third of the price!

I know what you’re thinking – something so nautical would only work in a beach or lake house – but, I think rope accents can work in any style decor, especially outdoors on a screened-in or covered porch.  Here are a few examples of how rope chandeliers add warmth, texture and interest to a space:

That chandelier is awesome! It would add so much texture to a room!
