luxe for less: netherlands fabric

Luca Linen fabric in beige by Scalamandre is one of my absolute favorites.  It’s not only beautiful, but it’s also so versatile; it would look just as beautiful in traditional interiors as it would in a beach house or more modern space…

…but at a whopping $162 per YARD, I just can’t justify the price tag. So, when a client (who’s working on a tight budget) had a sample of it in her inspiration folder, I quickly got to work, looking for an alternative.  I don’t think there’s anything out there as gorgeous as Luca, but Premier Prints Fabrics gets pretty close with their Netherlands Collection.  It comes in an array of muted colors printed on soft linen, and at $12 per yard, it’s much easier on the purse strings. 

I think the brown is pretty close to the Luca…
