I pride myself on my prowess wielding power tools, but I have to say, artist Kelly Reemtsen’s oil paintings give whole new meaning to the term, “working woman”! I’m loving the irony and the juxtaposition of softness and glamour of a cocktail dress with the hard edge of a chain saw. Revenge of the 1950’s housewife? Maybe. All part of a hard days work of a mid-century modern woman? Perhaps. Either way, I’m completely head-over-heels in love with her dark, witty pieces and their not-so-subtle serial killer vibe-after all, nothing completes a cocktail dress better than a string of pearls and an ax! Here are a few of my favorites-talk about a conversation starter!
