kate’s letters

I’ve got this little obsession with calligraphy (doesn’t everyone?) and have actually wanted to learn how to write it for some time now.  Having amassed quite a collection of pens and paper in every shade you can imagine, I keep telling myself that one of these days I’ll hunker down and learn this beautiful, ancient art.  Truth be told, it’s even been of my resolutions list for the last few New Year’s!  Thank goodness for insomnia because otherwise, I never would have been trolling Pinterest at the most ungodly hours of the night and wouldn’t have found the lovely work of Etsy artist Kate Rhodes.  Whether lyrics from a song or quotes from a movie, her writings are simple and beautiful, artfully handwritten on cardstock in metallic ink (my favorite is gold on black paper).  With Christmas right around the corner, her writings would make fantastic hostess gifts or holiday decoration when matted and framed.  Here are some of my favorites from her shop:
