When I was pregnant with Lydia, I firmly believed that keeping all baby paraphernalia to one location in my beautiful, PAINSTAKINGLY decorated home would be a piece of cake, despite ALL my friends warning me to the contrary. I guess it took being thrown into the lion’s den to fully realize what I was dealing with! While I think I do a good job of keeping toys organized (and hidden) in baskets and cabinets, I always find myself so in awe of people with littles who manage to make it look like a breeze, keeping their homes kid-friendly without sacrificing their sense of style. Nashville-based designer Sarah Bartholomew is one of my crushes for this very reason – she has four (FOUR!) littles and her house is STUNNING. She’s got a great eye for details and she does classic, sophisticated, All-American style so well, with lots of blue and white, touches of green, lots of gleaming white and warm texture. I can’t wait until she launches her website, but until then, she’s one of my favorites to follow on Instagram (@sarahbartholomewdesigns); I love getting little peeks of her home, client projects and glimpses of what inspires her:
Seriously. Four little kiddos live here:
A great mix of animal print, woven texture and, of course, blue and white, in her entry:
Such a beautiful vignette….that gorgeous Kaycee Huges painting totally makes the space:
Her living room is perfection:
Topiary look so fresh in her all-white kitchen (and the La Cornue stove isn’t too shabby, either):
A beautifully styled spot in her living room:
Herringbone floors, a printed grass cloth wall covering and a simple but stunning band detail on the curtains give me heart palpitations:
A chic coffee table vignette:
Green and white is oh, so right in a powder bath….those Leontine Linens hand towels are gorgeous:
How breathtaking is her laundry room?
Even her furbaby dines in style, out of blue and white chinoiserie bowls:
That mirror! That console table! Swoooooon:
Blue and white touches in the kitchen:
An all-white bathroom:
A little blue and white and a brass chandelier warm up an all-white kitchen:
Bamboo Roman blinds are just the right amount of texture in this green and white bedroom:
Brass details on a Dutch door. LOVE.
