INSPIRED: BLOOMS IN BASKETS

When it comes to planting, I almost always pick simple terra cotta pots that will age and weather beautifully, or dark gray, zinc-inspired options that give all the East Coast summer vibes. Lately, though, blooms planted in wicker baskets have been floating through my feed constantly and I couldn’t be more inspired. If you follow me on Pinterest, I’ve recently saved a bunch of favorites:

Whether a simple pot of spring annuals, an herb garden or a grouping of blooms or houseplants in different sized pots, that pop of texture really elevates plantings from ordinary to spectacular and creates such a charming European feel. As much as I love the idea, we live in an extremely humid climate and baskets don’t typically do well outdoors here in the summer months, but they would look amazing with pansies in the winter and annuals and bulbs in the spring. Inexpensive plastic pots that can be placed within the basket itself to protect it. I’ve rounded up a few options that would work beautifully; I especially love the square basket on wheels – so much easier to move around!
