granite goodness
It’s the little things in life that really get me excited and trips to the granite yard are definitely one of them…just another reason I love my job! Today, my clients and I checked out Cosmos Granite & Marble in Raleigh, to pick stone for their master bath and kitchen countertops. The selection for less-designed minded (aka: obsessed) would have been overwhelming, but I felt right at home amongst the aisles…
…and aisles…
There were a ton of choices from which to pick. From the exotic…
…to the classic and beautiful, like this Calcutta Gold marble:
…and this honed white Carrera…
But what really caught my eye was this breathtaking piece of Pietra del Cardosa soapstone (which, I think would easily run me more than half a year’s worth of mortgage payments)…
The purpose of the trip was not to ogle the granite goodness, unfortunately. We were on a tight schedule and had an idea of what we were looking for-something as close in resemblance to marble as we could get, but that came with the pricetag of granite. This Glacier White was a perfect compromise:
Isn’t it gorgeous?
These pictures just don’t do the gray veining justice, but you get the idea. Kitchen cabinets go in on this project tomorrow…stay tuned for pics of the completed project!
