gettin’ my christmas on
This is the first time in the nine years my hubby and I have been together that we will be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas apart. By military standards, that is quite a feat! So, since it’s just me and my furbaby, I decided to keep the decorations simple. The only thing I bought, besides the tree, was fresh greenery garlands that have made the house smell amazing for the last few weeks. Unfortunately, thanks to the recent 75 degree temps they are already brittle and dry-boo!
In keeping with my less-is-more approach this year, I stuffed leftover branches into pitchers, shiny silver ornaments into Revere bowls and magnolia branches in vases all over the house. The only things I took out of storage were my mom’s childhood sled and the ornaments for the tree. The huge book page wreath from my giveaway looked so good on my hutch that I decided to make another after I sent the original out. The best part of my day is right when the sun begins to fade and I can plug in my Christmas lights! If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve already seen a lot of these, but here are a few random shots of Christmas around my house this year:
