FRIDAY FIVE
The weather has been so glorious this entire week, it’s felt more like full-on spring than February! We’re heading into the weekend with absolutely nothing on our schedule except lots of time outside, trying some new recipes and finishing putting up the rest of our Valentine’s Day decor. Every year, my kiddos cut out construction paper hearts and tape them to the mantle; once Valentine’s Day is over, I write little sayings or things I love about them, things they’re good at, etc., and stick them on their bedroom doors. Every day, they come home from school to read the new ones. It’s such a sweet little tradition!

Here are a few things that landed on my radar this week:
THIS LIP MASK is incredible! I am constantly reapplying lip balm during these colder months, especially after having been sick these last couple weeks. This is incredibly moisturizing and leaves the slightest sheer pink tone. Added bonus: a little bit goes a long way! Highly, highly recommend!
THESE VINTAGE SLIM JEANS are so flattering and the price point is too good to be true! For someone who has been making a conscious effort to get out of workout clothes more often, these have been a great staple to throw on with a pair of Sambas and a Polo hat (I have in red, tan and gray) to instantly elevate my look when running errands or volunteering at the kids’ school.
A MAN AND HIS KITCHEN I bought this for my hubby for Christmas, but I’ve ended up making so many recipes out of it myself! Love the Grilled Ribeye with wedge salad, Vinegar Braised Short Ribs and his recipe for Shrimp Scampi is a goodie! The book also includes cocktails, desserts, seasonal menu ideas and what he keeps as staples in his pantry. Would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for the hubby or really, anyone who is looking for a beautiful cookbook (and the navy cover is so chic!)
SAILOR BAR So much design inspiration from this Brooklyn-based bar and restaurant, designed by Alfredo Paredes, who spent three decades at Ralph Lauren (and who also designed Ralph’s Paris, the Polo Bar and Ralph’s Coffee). Lots of navy blue, unlacquered brass, vintage and antique art, lots of stripes and subtle nautical details like brass nail head trim and blue leather seating. I love taking design notes from restaurants and this one is chock full of beautifully tailored details. Click here to see more!
THE SLOW DOWN BY LEANNE FORD I recently picked up a copy of interior designer Leanne Ford’s latest, and it’s absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to sit this weekend and be able to devour each and every page more slowly. Highly recommend!
Have a wonderful weekend!
