for the birds

Framing pages from a book is one of my favorite, inexpensive ways to display art. I hung a series of sea life creatures from a book I found on clearance in my entryway, which always gets a ton of compliments, but lately, I’ve been drawn to wildlife prints, namely birds.  It’s almost impossible to see a bird print and not think of the great John James Audubon, whose book Audubon’s Birds of America showcases over 400 of these beautiful creatures in their natural habitats.  I don’t think I’d have the heart to rip up a book like that (God knows I had a hard enough time tearing pages out of this one for my entryway), but luckily for all you bird lovers out there, there is another alternative!  The hubby and I were in Barnes and Noble last week and saw these sixteen frameable prints on the clearance aisle – he immediately loved them and so I didn’t waste time wondering where I would hang them-for less than $20, it was a no brainer!  Here are a few of my favorites:

And here are some inspiring images that got me started on these prints in the first place:

Hutker Architects via Remodelista

Garden and Gun

I’m thinking my prints will go in our guest room, which is the next spot in my home to get a little love.  Stay tuned to see some before and afters!

You are an inspiration! I emailed you in the past about the other gallery wall (sea creatures).
You were a huge help to me!
I finally completed the project and have a picture on my cell phone.
Not electronic savvy enough to figure out how to send to you.
When I saw this post I was inspired again. Love these prints!
