FOR SALE IN THE HUDSON VALLEY

Architect Gil Schafer’s Hudson Valley, NY, estate went up for sale a few weeks ago and social media, understandably, hasn’t been able to stop buzzing about it since! I remember the first time I laid eyes on photos of the incredible Greek Revival and surrounding 45-acres and couldn’t believe it was actually built by Schafer himself in 1999; it has the feel of a centuries-old home, rather than a new build – a testament to Schafer’s undeniable ability to blend his love for historic architectural details with modern comforts and sensibilities. The kitchen and adjacent eating area is one of my all-time favorites; I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve saved different views of the simple cabinetry and the dining table in the middle of the room. It’s so cozy and welcoming – the epitome of casual family living. More photos from the property’s listing below, but also be sure to check out this virtual tour with Susanna Salk and Gil Schafer himself. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched and screenshot different views I’ve never seen before of this stunner!
