equestrian elegance
What is it about Fall that makes me want to head for the hills and hole up in a little cottage in the mountains? This elegant equestrian home in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains is anything but a “little cottage”, but for me, it’s the epitome of rustic, rugged sophistication. The work of Pursley Dixon Architects and designer Kate Jackson, the entire property is absolutely stunning in its simplicity, from the beautiful reclaimed wood beam ceilings right down to the gorgeous wide planked floors. It’s quite a departure from the light, bright nautical spaces Jackson is known for, but she knocked it out of the park with this gorgeous home, keeping the color palette soft and neutral with lots of texture and the perfect mix of antique rugs and furniture pieces. Equestrian living at its finest:

Hello and welcome to Bungalow Blue Interiors!

Siiiigh. I love it. The first picture is my idea of perfection.
Ditto, Kate! Sheer perfection!
Thank you, Kelly! A true labor of love and "risk" on the owners who trusted me to design their equestrian project from ground up after designing two of their beach houses. This was indeed a departure (I appreciate you writing that:) but one that is all them. Two years of antique furniture and box collecting, leather book collecting, and a bit of mohair, wool and cashmere, I think we accomplished it. Stay tuned for a second Pursley Dixon (amazing architects + personalities) collaboration in Wellington, FL — another total departure but will be as equally beautiful. Install late 2013! xx
My response to this post: A simple " Oh My" !!!
Kate – a total departure, but one that shows how truly talented you are and that you design for your client's taste, not your own! Can't wait to see the collaboration in Florida at the end of this year! Best wishes for the rest of a successful 2013!
