EASTER PREP
Easter prep is in full swing over here and I’ve been busily getting ready for the big day. Over the years, my daughter has gotten very into helping with prep and, especially, setting the table and creating a centerpiece which has made the celebration even more special. While she’s been in school, I’ve been focusing on the more mundane tasks, like polishing silver, designating serving platters for each dish and making my grocery list. I always try to keep things casual and relaxed, but with special touches to elevate the table for the holiday, like my grandmother’s silver candlesticks and handwritten place cards (which my girl is in charge of creating). I recently pulled everything out to clean and make sure I had everything ready to go so I’m not scurrying the day of; I also like to set everything out in the dining room the night before, so everything is ready once we get home from church.
If you’ve been following along for a while now, you know I like to stick to the same pieces – simple white platters, bamboo flatware, lots of texture (especially loving the wicker wine basket I found for $5 at a thrift shop recently). Still trying to decide what we will do for a centerpiece, but in the meantime, my table is one thing I can cross off my to-do list!
