coastal elegance
One of the first design blogs I ever started reading way back in the day was that of designer Erika Powell of Urban Grace Interiors. I fell in love with her classic, elegant style and her eye for mixing patterns and textiles immediately; every single detail is always perfectly executed, right down to the embroidered trim on throw pillows and the pinch pleats on curtain panels. In a world where design trends come and go constantly, I’m enamored with the fact that she sticks to the clean, classic look of traditional furnishings, lighting and fixtures peppered with modern touches like upholstered beds and slipcovered side tables. And she was the first designer to ever really turn me onto cabinetry painted any other color than white!!
It’s been a while since she’s blogged but I noticed that her website has been updated with some stunning shots of beach front projects – the water views alone are enough to make you drool, but if you also love simple, stunning spaces that are tailored and elegant and completely void of kitschy nautical details, then you’ll love each and every one of these!
Happy Hump day!

Do you have suggestions for gray paint similar to the one on the island in the first kitchen picture? Thanks!
Thank you for sharing such wonderful ideas! Enchanting as always!
J Crawford – I have no idea what color they used, but I would suggest trying Kendall Charcoal and Whale Gray, both by Benjamin Moore!
Thank you so much, Jennifer! xx
