beautiful organization

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are off to a great start in 2013!  I had a great time up north with my dad and brothers, but nine years in the south has definitely spoiled me….a few days in Philadelphia felt like I was in the tundra!  Still can’t believe how 2012 FLEW by, either….I’m not much for making New Year’s resolutions, but the one thing I do get the bug for right around this time of year is better, more efficient organization-something about starting the new year off with everything in its place and a place for everything, right?  Thank goodness for all the pretty, color-coded and orderly images on Pinterest of closets, pantries and drawers organized to within an inch of their lives-the inspiration is never ending!

I’m currently loving the closet of Kate Davidson Hudson, former Senior Accessories Editor for Elle.  Not only does she have amazing personal style, but her organizing and compartmentalizing skills are equally impressive.  The costume jewelry in just one of her drawers probably costs more than a year’s worth of my mortgage payments, but I love how she treats her clothes, jewelry and accessories like art, displaying necklaces on 18th Century first edition books and making use of every last inch of space on her built-ins.  Everything is orderly and….gorgeous!
