antique-filled in amagansett

Fall is finally starting to (slowly) creep its way to the south and I couldn’t be happier!  I’ve been glued to my Pinterest page lately but, instead of fall decorations, I’ve been drooling over tailored spaces in neutral color palettes with lots of texture, beautiful antiques, and luxurious textiles.  I’ve always been drawn to more masculine spaces and believe that you can create a “fall” feel in your home without resorting to kitschy decorations but rather a few key pieces that are classic and warm like throw blankets, pillows, birch logs, candles, dhurries and of course, fresh cut magnolia branches!  This antiques filled Amagansett home, designed by architect and interior designer Jennifer Vaughn Miller, is a fabulous example of such a tailored, masculine aesthetic.  Creamy white walls are a beautiful backdrop for an impressive collection of antiques, warm wood pieces, leather and linen furnishings and pops of brass, black and charcoal.  Fresh flowers in vintage silver trophies are a beautiful way to add a feminine touch and a little bit of soft color.  It’s sophisticated and elegant, light and bright yet comfy and cozy.  I can just imagine kicking back on that gorgeous tufted leather sofa with a glass of wine and a roaring fire, can’t you?

Here are my picks for creating a similar look and feel in your home:

Aiden accent chair / Gorden tufted sofa / Woven seagrass basket / Deauville Table Lamp

Vintage trophy / boston functional library wall light / Snow leopard faux fur throw

Kelly Wearstler Feline Pillow / Diptyque candle / Tortoise ice bucket

Happy Hump Day!

Yeeeessss, I love it! I'm in th process of decorating our study, mostly to be used by my husband so I want a more masculine feel. It's easier to do with the arriving fall weather for whatever reason 🙂 wish we had room for a chesterfield! I also wish I could see more of that bedroom. I love what I see!

A leather chesterfield sofa would look right at home in your house, Kate! Can't wait to see what you end up doing, lady 🙂
