a new mirror for the entryway + a HomeGoods score
A few weeks ago, I posted a picture of the framed sea life book pages in my entryway to my Instagram account (@bungalowblue) and mentioned how they were going to soon be relocating to another room in the house. There were quite a few comments on the perfect hang job and how it was a shame I was taking them down, and normally I would be in total agreement (it did take a while to get all 12 of them up there), HOWEVER, I’m just as excited with what will be taking their place:
If you’ve ever been on the hunt for an oversize round mirror at a reasonable price, you know it can be like searching for a needle in a haystack…close to impossible. So, when I spotted a gorgeous, almost 40-incher at Home Goods a few weeks ago for less than $200, it was a no brainer – I had to have it!
There’s just something about mirrors in entryways, don’t you think? They’re classic, make small spaces like entryways live larger and help bounce natural light around. With its generous size, this one is going to look amazing in my entry:
The finish is gold-ish and brown, a very bad faux paint job, but that’s easily fixable. Right now, I’m trying to decide whether I’ll give it a “zinc” finish like another mirror I’ve refinished:
…or, the weathered wood finish I posted about last week. (I’m kind of obsessed with this one lately and want to do it to EVERYTHING):
What do you think? Which finish should I go with?

Though I LOVE the weathered wood finish, I think the zinc finish would add some nice contrast !
I think so, too, Rachel!
What a great mirror! I love both finishes but I think the zinc would stand out more.
Thanks, Stacey! I was skipping through HomeGoods like a little school girl when I found it!
