vintage bamboo desk re-do

Remember this vintage faux bamboo desk I scored a few weeks ago at an estate sale?  Well, I finally had some free time last week to sand it down and give it a few coats of fresh paint and I’m loving how beautiful it turned out!  Way more chic than the cardboard moving box that has been my “temporary” computer desk since we moved in a year and a half ago.  Here is one more “before” shot:

As I was sanding it, I was still unsure what color I was going to paint it, but after two coats of Kilz oil based primer, I actually started feeling the white, so I went with two more coats of White Dove by Benjamin Moore.  I rarely spring for painting pieces white, but it gives the desk a fun, fresh feel and the antique brass hardware really pops against it now:

I love the bamboo detailing and fabulous pulls:

I got a lot of emails about what color I should go with, but, I have to say, I’m pretty pleased with the white.  What do you think?

Love the poster! Interested in selling it? I would love to buy it.

Where did you find it if you don't mind my asking and if your blog is still active.

    Best,

Hi, Lori! The surf poster was a gift from a fellow blogger. I gave it to my husband for his birthday that year and it hangs in our master bathroom now. I'm sure you can find them online! xx
