to the sea

If you’re an habitual reader of my blog, or, if you follow me on Pinterest, you know I have a thing for large-scale renderings of the deep, dark ocean (check out posts here, here and here).  There’s nothing more therapeutic or more beautiful than the sea and it’s something that everyone can relate to, whether you live near the water or not.  Well, here’s another fabulous artist to add to the list: Steve Giannetti, uber-talented architect, co-author of the book Patina Style (one of my faves!) and hubby of designer Brooke Giannetti, author of the lovely blog Velvet + Linen.  Steve’s amazing watercolor renderings grace the walls of their beach home, as well as many projects the two have worked on together and not only are they stunning, but they add so much interest and color to any space!

Hung in clustered groupings adds pops of the most beautiful shades of blue and green to an all-white space:

Propped up against bookshelves adds another layer of interest:

LOVE them sitting on an easel (great use of corner space, too!):

So beautiful:

Brooke and Steve used to have a set of four of his paintings available for sale in their shop, but, try as I might, I wasn’t able to find them.  To see more of Steve’s art, check out Brooke’s blog here

An absolute calmness inside the house because of the paintings hanging on the wall. I love it!
