thom filicia’s super chic lake house

As much as I dream about living on the beach, I would seriously consider lakeside living if the house looked anything remotely like designer Thom Filicia’s chic lakefront beauty in the Finger Lakes!  We’ve all seen his super chic, modern take on lakeside living before (he even has a book dedicated to the every last detail of the renovation of this home), but One King’s Lane has some pretty amazing detail shots of vignettes I’ve never seen before and they’re gooooooood.  Really good.  From the stunning woven wall covering throughout and the great mix of color, pattern and texture to the more modern furnishings and rustic, nautical accents, the house is so fun and fresh while at the same time complimentary of its natural surroundings.  Exactly what you’d expect for a lake house, am I right?

Woven wall covering, rough hewn ceiling beams and black painted interior doors are a beautiful compliment to the more modern furnishings in the living room:

One of many beautifully styled vignettes:

The stone fireplace looks so crisp against the white walls and beadboard ceiling:

I’m obsessed with the sisal stair runner and that rope banister – LOVE!

I love how he used outdoor lantern lights inside, and that built-in is the perfect little niche to break up wall space:

A contemporary limed oak console and an oversize out-of-focus photographic print in the hallway add interest and drama and a hint of cobalt blue walls in the dining room:

Those Klismos chairs are divine:

I love how the woven wallcovering is added to the ceiling in this sitting area.  It’s such a lovely compliment to the board and batten walls and the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace:

Black and navy blue in the kitchen is moody and elegant, perfect for a lake house:

Texture abounds in the sunroom, from the log ceiling and the jute chandelier to the black paneled walls and soft, woven Roman shades.  Filicia’s signature twist on classic furnishings is to upholster the sofa seat cushions in a coordinating fabric and pipe them in a bold color.  I love how it adds so much interest to this space:

Obsessed with everything in this stairway.  Everything.  Obsessed.

If you haven’t already checked out Thom Filicia’s sale on One King’s Lane, head on over to find many of the items he used to decorate this house!

What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
