THE NON-TOXIC WAY I KEEP MY WHITE LINENS BRIGHT

I am a glutton for punishment when it comes to white linens – I can never say no to crisp white bedding, dish towels and all the white eyelet for summer. It’s just a matter of time, though, before they’re gray and dingy, and since I’ve long since given up all the chemical-filled brighteners, I’ve been on an exhaustive hunt for a non-toxic alternative that actually works. After pouring over hundreds of product reviews and quite a few options that did not work at all, I landed on this granular brightener and, after finding it’s toxicity rating on the Environmental Working Guide, decided to give it a try. I use the same brand’s laundry detergent and love it, so I decided to give the brightener a go on my kiddos’ uniform shirts. I presoaked them overnight and was pleasantly surprised with the results – they looked as bright as when I first purchased them. Since then, I’ve used it on everything from coverlets, sheets and other clothing with great success! Kitchen towels took soaking twice in order to get them super white, but I think from this point on, I can get away with just once. I can’t recommend this enough, if you’re looking to brighten any linens!
It’s also worth mentioning, if you’re on the hunt for non-toxic cleaning products, that THIS is, hands down, the best spot treatment spray ever; THIS is the only dishwasher detergent that actually gets my dishware clean and leaves my glasses sparkling and I’ve used THIS polish for everything from shower and oven doors to bathroom sinks.
What are some of your favorite non-toxic cleaning products?
