SEPTEMBER FINDS

As much as I hate to see summer come to a close, I always love the month of September, as the warmer temps still linger a bit longer but the evenings start to get just the teensiest bit chilly. There are a few things I like to do to usher in the change in seasons this time of year, namely, bringing in lots of texture, swapping light throws out for heavier knits and using lots of natural materials like brass, marble and wood to add warmth. I’ve never been a big fan of using typical fall colors like reds, golds and oranges, so I like to stick with various shades of dusty blues and grays for an elegant twist. Below are some current favorites that help to usher in the feel of the autumn season, but that also have a little coastal/nautical twist; my favorite way to decorate for any season, really:

PILLOW COVERS – A beautiful alternative to linen for the season and at such a great price point!

FRAMED SEASCAPE – Love the contrast of the antique gold frame against the blues and grays.

RATTAN BOWL – Love the shape and texture of this piece for a bookshelf, entryway table or coffee table!

BRASS SEASHELL MIRROR – A vintage feel with a coastal twist!

MARBLE VASE – Gorgeous for branches or blooms!

HANGING LANTERN LIGHT – I wish I had a place for this in my house; such a great vintage feel and comes in three different color ways!

STRIPED COMFORTER – I love a good stripe and this is as perfect for lounging on the sofa for movie night as it is for a heavier option for the cooler months!

BRASS LABRADOR BOOKENDS – I don’t have to explain why I love these, but they are just so cute and add a preppy touch to any table or bookshelf!

TABLE LAMP – I have a weakness for old lamps (and have quite the collection in storage to prove it!) I love the antique feel of this one, but I especially love the twisted base!
