I’ve been on a quest for a unique chandelier for my breakfast area for some time now. It’s tough because the ceiling is vaulted, so I need something decently sized so it doesn’t look silly in all that open space. I’ve toyed with the idea of re-wiring a huge lantern, but haven’t been able to find one I love and I really want something different and unexpected. A random search on Pinterest stopped me dead in my tracks when I saw this chandelier wrapped in jute rope by Regina Andrew:
It’s a little on the nautical side, I know, and while I try to stay away from kitchy, beachy decor, I kept coming back to this chandelier. I’ve posted before about decorating with jute rope – the possibilities are endless – and I love the warmth and texture it brings to a space. It doesn’t look like this is a trend that is going anywhere anytime soon, either. Check out some of the other rope stunners I found:
This one by Jamie Young Co. would look beautiful in a beach house:
A similar, more affordable option from Pottery Barn:
They both remind me of the one in this eating nook in a kitchen designed by Steven Gambrel:
This tiny one would be perfect in a powder room or a hallway:
Restoration Hardware’s got a few beauties, as well. I love this French Empire 6-arm chandelier:
…as well as this Planetarium Chandelier:
What do you think? Would you hang one in your home?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
