my new favorite bamboo woven roman shades

Woven Roman blinds are my favorite window treatments; they work in almost every decorating style and bring so much warmth, texture and interest to a space.  The problem with them, however, is that EVERY time I find some that I love and that are reasonably priced, they end up being discontinued quicker than I can post about them or source them for a client!  Home Depot carried a line that we have all throughout our house but has since been discontinued and I’ve been mourning the loss ever since.  So, when I stumbled upon these custom sized, light filtering bamboo natural Roman blinds by Levolor at Lowe’s, I wanted to post before – poof! – they’re gone, too!

The best thing about these blinds is that they have a liner so they’re a little more than light filtering, BUT from the outside, they still look like bamboo, like the rest of our windows AND you can have them cut to the exact size you need right there in Lowe’s!

The windows in our master bedroom are the only ones in our whole house that aren’t standard sizes, which was all Home Depot offered for the bamboo blinds we have everywhere else, so I’ve relied on closing my white curtains every night for years, which was about as effective at blocking early morning light as much as if I had nothing on my windows at all.  The Levolor Tatami are gorgeous and, even though they’re technically “light filtering”, they do an amazing job at keeping our room dark and cool as the sun rises in the morning!

I picked these up on a whim last summer the day after my husband deployed after years of early rising because of the light – they are so easy to install, it’s almost too good to believe.  If you can use a drill, you’re golden!

I especially love how the bamboo blinds look paired with gauzy white curtain panels – it makes my room feel a little more finished, even though it’s anything but!

They cut the blinds right in the box – you can see here how precise it is – so be sure you measure your windows correctly, because you can’t take them back once they’ve been cut!  I hung ours inside the window casing, so I had my blinds cut one inch shorter than the width of the inside of the window so there wouldn’t be an issue opening them:

Happy shopping and hanging!
