lovely layers

Just like adding layers to your outfit as the weather gets cooler, I love adding layers of texture, pattern and cozy fabrics to your space as the seasons change. This home, designed by Jill Goldberg, is a great example, from heavier pinstriped curtain panels and a fabulous plaid sofa to warm brass accents and rich pops of color and fun pattern throughout, it would be easy to change up this home as Spring and Summer roll around.  Right now, though, I’m loving the comfy, cozy vibe in every room of this house, the perfect mix of modern and traditional:

How inviting is this corner niche with its fabulous gallery wall, jute-wrapped console table and comfy seating in rich hues?

There is so much to love in this living room, from the rich mocha walls and mix of neutral furniture and  bright fabrics to those gorgeous urn lamps and that incredible Shine by SHO Spencer coffee table:

Love the nautical nod from the unframed seascape painting, not to mention the cowhide foot stool, antique brass double arm sconces and cane backed chair:

A white lacquered Parsons table adorned with family photos and a mirrored lamp are so inviting in the entryway:

Pale gray walls, a generously-sized sunburst mirror, chairs upholstered in David Hicks la Fiorentina fabric and a contemporary brass chandelier make a dramatic impression in the dining room:

Here are my picks for creating a similar look:

Fulham sofaSeascape painting / Chaing Mai Dragon pillow / Seagrass basket /

Benjamin Moore Davenport Tan / Garden stool / Sunburst mirror / Ceramic lamp /

Have a wonderful weekend!
