indigo love

When a friend asked me the other day if indigo blue pillows were a good pick for her front porch chairs, my first thought was, “Indigo is perfect for ANYWHERE”; so I, of course, responded with an emphatic YES!  It’s pretty obvious how much I LOVE deep, dark and moody indigo and navy blue (hello, logo!)…it’s such a gorgeous neutral color that makes just as dramatic a statement in small doses like throw pillows or flowers in blue and white ginger jars as it does splashed on walls.  Here are a few beautiful examples of this lovely, inky hue:

There is so much to love in this Jeffrey Alan Marks-designed dining room – from the dental molding, pops of greenery and a fabulous, geometric print rug, but the deep, inky wall color takes the cake for me and provides a beautiful backdrop for the equally beautiful abstract painting:

Love the vintage gear molds in this entryway designed by Thom Flicia, but the inky wave wallpaper border provides an even more striking backdrop:

Blue and white ginger jars filled with flowers are always a gorgeous option for a dramatic centerpiece, especially when paired with a rustic farm table, like this one, designed by Lisa Luby Ryan:

Navy blue grasscloth looks so crisp against white beadboard in this BHG bedroom:

I’ve been smitten with this powder room for years – love the Chiang Mai Dragon wallpaper in blue, all the crisp white millwork and the pale pink flowers…perfection!

Love the subtle indigo accents in this bedroom designed by Thomas O’Brien, from the lovely feather painting to the throw and small-scale linen wall covering.  Simple, yet so stunning:

Inky blue walls and built-ins are a beautiful backdrop for blue and white transferware and actually make this tiny kitchen space seem a lot larger:

Indigo shutters are a beautiful compliment to this shingle-style home:

Still in love with Ashley Putman’s gorgeous dining room, especially those inky blue walls!

And here are my picks for adding some of this lovely color to your home:

Navy and white chevron Jilly cups from Jill Rosenwald and a navy Greek key throw pack a pretty, inky punch:

Dark blue and white AND monogrammed?  This pillow is perfection!

Drooling over these agate bookends – and thinking how fabulous they would look on my bright white bookshelves!

Love this navy feather shower curtain from Serena and Lily:

Have a wonderful weekend!
