There’s nothing I love more than giving a unique, handmade gift for Christmas (except maybe receiving one, of course!) and this year I happen to be head over heels OBSESSED with the work of Atlanta-based small batch ceramicist Courtney Hamill of Honeycomb Studio!  Each of her pieces is handmade, either on the wheel or cast from an original mold, so no two pieces are alike and each one bears her signature gold (or platinum) dipped edges.  Each year, Courtney introduces a new color to her line and I was excited to read that coral is next up for 2014!  I can’t contain my excitement for her work and since no words could do her pieces justice, here are a some of my favorites from her line:

Her antler collection is simply breathtaking:

A matte black porcelain cheese plate with gilded edging?  Yes, please!

This adorable salt cellar, with its little gold dipped spoon, might just be the perfect hostess gift:

I’m dying over these matte black and white turtle doves with their gold tips…and thinking how amazing they would look on my mantle or my built-ins or my sink watching me do the dishes.  Seriously….these are way at the top of my Christmas list:

A cluster of gold-dipped Christmas trees are a stunning must-have for any mantle or bookshelf:

Love her heirloom Christmas ornaments in navy blue, oxblood, matte black or snow white:

So fun to see the process, from mold to kiln to those gorgeous glazes:

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention her STUNNING collection of navy blue glazed bottles, bud vases and ornaments with copper leaf detailing….sheer perfection!
