for my girls with curls

If you have naturally curly hair, you know it can be both a blessing and a curse. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with mine my whole life.  Living in the southeast where heat and humidity go together like peanut butter and jelly, my fine curly hair loses the battle with Mother Nature every time, despite the small fortune I have spent on products to tame it.  I was ready to try a keratin treatment, but I didn’t want to get rid of my curls completely, so, when my stylist friend suggested I try Moroccan Oil Intense Curl Cream, I figured it couldn’t hurt.  For someone who has battled her rat’s nest of curls my entire life, let me tell you I couldn’t have been happier with how well it worked!  It’s not cheap, but a little bit really goes a long way, it lasts forever and my curls never looked so good-sans frizz!  I think it’s worth its weight in gold – I comb it through and air dry…no blow dryer required!

I wouldn’t normally try to blow dry my hair straight in the summer, but after reading Seleta’s post a few weeks ago, in which she blogged about a brush that was helping her fight Florida humidity, I decided to give it a whirl and try it myself.   I ordered mine here and when I got it I was a bit dubious…I don’t know what I was expecting it to look like, because it sure looked like any of the other fifty round brushes in my repotoire, but thankfully, looks are deceiving:

A few weeks ago, we caught dinner and a movie with friends, so I decided I’d give it a shot and blow dry it straight, really putting my new brush to the test with recent thunderstorms and high humidity.  A little extra Macademia oil to keep it looking smooth and I was amazed at how great my hair looked.  This is what it looked like without a flat iron, which I always need to use to smooth flyaways:

I couldn’t be happier with both products!
