EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR NEXT CHEESE BOARD
We don’t do many big or fancy dinners during the holiday season, but I always have things on hand to throw together a cheese board and some cocktails for friends in a heartbeat! I posted some of my favorite cheese and charcuterie boards from over the years over on Instagram the other day and got a ton of questions about some of the pieces I used. I’m a creature of habit, so I tend to use the same serving and entertaining pieces over and over, but the truth is, you don’t really need much to elevate some cheese and crackers to make it look even more special. A simple white plate or platter would work just as well as some of the pieces I use, but if you’re looking for something to up the ante for the Christmas season, here is what I like to stick with when creating my boards….

I love to make a statement, so I use oversize bread boards, and I like to layer marble or slate boards on top and add in small silver bowls (I have a ton of thrifted Revere bowls) for olives, nuts and jam. Cheese knives and mini forks are a must and I like to keep my wine, cocktail glasses and ice bucket right next to my board so everything is right within reach (and I think it looks better, too!). Last, but not least, I love candlelight, whether its a single hurricane or a smattering of unscented votives, for even more ambience. Here are a few pieces to help you get started:

Bread board / Slate cheese board / Similar salt and pepper shakers / Appetizer plates / Cheese serving set / Marble pastry board / Small silver bowl / Round marble cheese board / Rattan ice bucket / French wine glasses / Set of mini votives
