color inspiration for the nursery: navy, blush, coral + gold

Now that the cat’s out of the bag about my pregnancy news, I’m so excited to share my nursery inspiration with you all!  I feel extremely behind the curve ball with the nursery design, to be honest – the only thing I’ve bought so far is the crib, which still sits in the box, waiting to be painted.  It’s always a breeze designing and decorating for clients and friends, but when it comes to my own home, I’ve always had a much more difficult time making decisions.  This is exceptionally true of my nursery…

Even before I knew I was having a girl, I was in love with a color palette of blush and coral with pale blue, navy and champagne accents-soft, feminine and a little preppy with a coastal feel (no themes here!)  Most of the inspiration has come from adult spaces and weddings, especially this one.  The  peachy, pink and coral tones are such a soft compliment to the navy and white stripes and those gold Chippendale chairs are the perfect finishing touch – a fun, fresh palette for any baby girl!

The petal pink curtains and brass curtain rods in this living room designed by Melanie Turner were the first images I thought of when planning for my nursery…the whole space is light and bright, but those curtains really tie the whole room together and are so stunning!

Inspiration can be found anywhere – this simple bouquet of peonies wrapped with a navy blue and white grosgrain ribbon are great inspiration for paint color and crib bedding or trim:

More soft pink curtains in this dining room, but how about that gold lacquered ceiling?!?! The brass accents and bamboo Roman blinds add interest and texture without being overwhelming, which is exactly the feel I’m going for:

More pink curtains in this dining room featured on Lonny – can you tell what is DEFINITELY going to be making an appearance in my nursery?? Love that the walls were kept neutral so the navy blue and pink accents could take center stage:

While these rich coral walls are a bit too dark for what I want in my nursery, I’ve always been in love with this guest bedroom in interior designer Steven Gambrel’s Southampton home.  Neutral bedding, soft pattern and nautical details ground the space.  Absolutely stunning.

Much more to come very soon – we start painting and adding architectural detailing and trim this weekend; can’t wait to show you progress pics!

I LOVE it! Very excited to watch it come together. Very sophisticated palette but still very girly for sweet baby.
