CHARMING CHARLESTON: WINDOW BOX PERFECTION

We’re planning a quick weekend trip back to the Holy City before the blazing heat hits and, since I have gardens and landscaping on my mind 24/7 lately, I thought I’d share some snaps from some of the most beautiful window boxes from our favorite city! I’ve posted pics from our trips before but I’m really disappointed to see that most, if not all, of those photos did not make the transfer when I had blog redone a couple years back, so I’m re-posting here again – this time, I’m sharing a few garden-inspired favorites at the end, as well, so be sure to check all the way at the end of the post!

I can never go to Charleston without clocking some serious mileage through the neighborhoods of the historic section; the history, the architectural details and the incredible gardens are just breathtaking, no mattter how many times I walk past the same house. Even with little or no yard or garden space, almost every home boasts beautiful window boxes, spilling over with the most incredible combinations of plants, flowers and ferns in the most vibrant colors and textures. I have so many images saved that I constantly refer back to for inspiration when planting pots of my own. Here are a few of my favorites:

Below are a few garden-inspired finds that I’m loving lately (those wicker baskets are actually all-weather-wicker planters and I’m smitten!) Click links below image to be directed to each item:

Window box / Copper garden tools / Wicker planters / Gingham tablecloth / Trug basket / Wicker pitcher Wicker drinking glass / Block print napkins
