casual glam in san clemente

Last week I promised a return to blogging and needless to say, I dropped the ball on that one.  Big time.  I chalk it up to a bit of a hormonal breakdown when my mom left after a two week visit (she lives on the West coast for now and our visits always seem to fly by way too fast).  In addition to very little sleep and not eating enough to keep up with a demanding breastfeeding schedule, I was running on an empty tank, literally.  I’m excited to say that, even though we are a ways away from being on an actual schedule, things are going much better! To make up for the lack of posts, I’m excited to share the gorgeous house tour of California-based interior designer Shea McGee, whom I was actually introduced to on Instagram.  Her style is the perfect mix of casual and glam – white walls and cabinetry are a light, bright backdrop for a chic blend of color, pattern, texture and fun art (not to mention a fabulous blue/black formal living room-love!)

Love her all-white kitchen.  I don’t care what anyone says, white kitchens will ALWAYS be classic and timeless.  Especially love the open shelving in the corner and all that bright natural light:

A linen slipcovered couch, bamboo Roman blinds and a pretty impressive Fiddle Leaf Fig tree are so casual and cozy in the family room:

Hello, gorgeous…..the formal living room, with it’s inky blue walls, striped rug, bamboo Roman blinds, gauzy white curtain panels, floor-to-ceiling built-ins and a fabulous tufted linen sofa is, by far, my favorite room in the house!  Love the little pop of fuschia and turquoise from the throw pillow and side chair:

Another view of that fabulous wall color:

White, floor-to-ceiling built-in shelving lightens and brightens the living room:

How adorable is her baby girl’s room?  So soft and feminine…I know a few grown up girls who would LOVE that wallpaper, too!

Love the built-ins and campaign-style desk in the study/office:

Wow. I would like to plop down on that sofa right now. So lovely and the light is incredible.

I'm happy to hear things are going well on the baby front! 🙂

Such a gorgeous home! I totally agree with you about all white kitchens, definitely classic and timeless. LOVING the dark blue walls as well. Even though the color is so dark, the room seems so bright!

Thank you, Kate! Amber, my thoughts exactly! Dark wall colors actually open up a space when done right and this one was a great pick!
